El jefe de la policía antidrogas, general Vicente Romero, indicó que los traficantes resistieron el arresto con disparos y en el enfrentamiento murió uno ellos y fueron heridos dos, e identificó a dos de los detenidos como Hugo Quiroz Ruiz y Ezequiel Ilea Mayhua.
Romero no precisó el número exacto ni las nacionalidades de los capturados y solo dijo que, la avioneta tenía matrícula boliviana, el piloto es peruano y se verifica la identidad del fallecido.
Sin embargo, el ministerio público informó que se investiga la procedencia de la avioneta y el destino de los 350 kilos de clorhidrato de cocaína.
La operación se agrega a la captura ayer de 10 integrantes de una banda de narcotraficantes y la captura en la operación, de 600 kilos de clorhidrato de cocaína en una lujosa residencia de un exclusivo barrio limeño.
La droga estaba lista para su envío a Estados Unidos y al menos uno de los detenidos tiene nacionalidad norteamericana, indicó la policía.
