La Policía Nacional de Nicaragua incautó hoy 55 paquetes de cocaína, según informó el jefe de la División de Relaciones Públicas de esa institución, Fernando Borges. La droga viajaba escondida en una camioneta, la cual fue detenida en un puesto de control en el departamento de Granada, a unos 45 kilómetros de esta capital.
Borges explicó que se conoce que la cocaína estaba destinada al tráfico internacional y que atravesaría el territorio nacional de sur a norte.
El peso de la droga incautada fue de 63 kilogramos, dijo Borges, a la vez que comentó que las investigaciones continúan para determinar si había más implicados en este traslado.
El conductor de la camioneta, de origen nicaragüense, es el único detenido hasta el momento.
La Policía informó ayer que en los primeros meses del año incautó 38 mil 334 dosis de cocaína, cuatro millones 744 de marihuana y 38 mil 304 de piedras de crack.
Además, desarticuló ocho estructuras dedicadas al expendio y distribución de drogas y realizó varios operativos en contra de abastecedores.
